Goodbye Cheju

I loved our hotel. It’s pretty much brand new and had this massive, airy feel, especially in the inner courtyard. The breakfast buffet was killer. They had the best tangerine juice, from tangerines that are native to Cheju. The swimming pool was the perfect temperature for outdoor nighttime swimming, and it was linked to the indoor pool through this one small passageway. It reminded me of one of those door flaps for cats and dogs. Ingenious! Wish I could have stayed longer …

At one of the vista points, there was this metal character cutout from a popular k-drama series called Dae Jang Geum that filmed a scene here. I insisted on a picture, regardless of the fact that this character is a woman:

Taking a sweet boat ride out to see some of Cheju’s neat rock islands, and this one inactive, cratered volcano:

Can you see the guy fishing? It's better in zoom:

Some more sights from Cheju:

The back door of one of the Cheju restaurants opened out onto this mini beach:

Know what this hole is? One takes a dump here, and the black-haired pig living below eats your offering. They then slaughter the pig when it matures for its supposedly tender and excellent meat. Don't try this at home:

Speaking of dumps, looks like Korea is cracking down on dangerous bowl movements:

Stay tuned for a Chuseok update!

  1. No food picts! I expect more from you Roy. Plus no picts of cute Korean girls. Another fail. I suggest you work a bit harder on the trip.
